We Wish You A Dubarry Christmas!

With less than a month to go until the big day, even those of you who have put off the Christmas shopping so far are having to admit that now is time to get started! If you're one of those many folks for whom the thought of joining the gift-buying masses in person is not a pleasant one, then the ideal solution is to shop from the comfort of your own home.

The Vareys Town & Country website is stocked with thousands of items of top-brand clothing and footwear which, along with our diverse array of accessories, will all make fantastic Christmas presents for family and friends. In this edition of our blog, we are showcasing a selection of men's garments from the brand-new collection by Dubarry.

Dubarry of Ireland, to give the company its full title, was established more than 85 years ago in 1937 by the Cullen Family Trust. Originally, the company was founded with the twin aims of creating employment opportunities for the local community and providing high-quality footwear to protect people from the harsh weather conditions commonly experienced in Dubarry's coastal hometown of Ballinasloe in the County Galway region of Ireland.

Considering that the brand was founded by members of the Cullen family, you may be wondering where the name 'Dubarry' came from. Rather surprisingly, it is taken from a famous French woman named Madame du Barry, who was a courtesan to King Louis XV of France in the mid-18th century; her name was chosen in order to differentiate Dubarry from other Irish clothing companies and give it a romantic evocative continental feel. Though, like many others during the French Revolution, Madame du Barry sadly met an unfortunate end on the guillotine, Dubarry has continued to thrive and remains headquartered in Ballinsaloe where it all began.

Vareys Town & Country has recently taken delivery of numerous new items from Dubarry's latest collection, bringing our total number of Dubarry garments close to 200. Check out these four standout pieces from the men's collection...
